Full-time students, faculty and research staff from accredited higher education institutions in Chinese Mainland, Hong Kong and Macau may apply for a free one-year license via the WeChat Mini Program through OAT, Gurobi's official academic partner in China. The whole application process takes approximately 5 minutes.

1. Scan the QR Code

Open WeChat and scan the QR code to enter the Gurobi Academic License Application Mini Program.

2. Complete the Application Form

Fill in your name, institution, academic position and expected graduation date. Please provide your institutional email address if available.

*If you do not have an institutional email, you may use an alternative email address.

3. Upload Eligibility Documentation Upload 1 to 3 clear photos of relevant supporting documents according to your identity. Students must submit the Online Student Status Verification Report issued by the Ministry of Education. Faculty members need to provide a teacher qualification certificate or employment certificate with a valid term displayed.

*Student ID cards are not accepted; the official student status verification report is mandatory.

4. Submit Application and Await Review Your application will go through both automated and manual review. You are expected to receive the review result notification within 1 to 2 working days.

5. Obtain and Activate Your License Upon approval, you will receive an email containing your License ID and the grbgetkey activation command. Follow the instructions to complete activation. The license is valid for one year, and you need to reapply for renewal before expiry.

A Gurobi Site License enables all faculty and students within an academic department to use Gurobi via a shared license server. Only one Site License application is permitted per department each year. This license is restricted to academic research and teaching purposes and must not be used for any commercial activities.

Send the completed and signed form to our official academic partner OAT in China. OAT will review your application and contact you within 1 to 2 working days.
